What is Summerhill Swim Scheme?
The Summerhill Swimscheme has been established for many years and we have taught hundreds of people to swim both for pleasure and as a basis for competitive swimming.
Our aim is to provide high quality teaching for both adults and children in a welcoming and friendly environment.
All our teachers are trained to Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) standards. They also have both Police and Medical clearance, in accordance with Local Authority Regulations.
Our pool is an ideal sized teaching pool. For those who like figures our vital statistics are:
| Dimension | Size |
|---|---|
| Length | 25 metres |
| Width | 8 metres |
| Depth - Shallow End | 0.88 metres |
| Depth - Deep End | 1.80 metres |

Candidates must be at least 16 years at the start of the course. Our next course date are yet to be confirmed but may be in the October half term 2010.
Swimming Crash Courses
We run Crash Courses for children during many of the school holidays. Each course is run over 5 consecutive days, with a 1/2 hour session at the same time each day. Our next crash course is in the Easter 2010 holiday.
A Crash Course can provide an ideal chance for children already having swimming lessons to build on skills they are currently learning. They are also equally as effective as an introduction to swimming lessons, or on a "one-off" basis to brush up on skills previously learned.
Our Crash Courses are open to children who are already attending Swimscheme courses and to those who are not.
A full description of the requirements for each Stage can be found in the Swimming Lessons section of this website.
